CanDiego's 3rd Annual Canada Day Celebration

Join CanDiego in celebrating Canada's 141st birthday
a few days early in San Diego!

CanDiego is hosting it's third annual Canada Day celebration on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Harbor House in Seaport Village starting at 5:30 pm. This is CanDiego's premier event of the year. We'll have games, a raffle, and of course, the singing of O Canada. Prizes include dinner for two at the La Jolla Brew House, legal services courtesy of Joe Kirkwood, gift certificates from Stout Public House, and much more.

And for the Grand Prize,

CanDiego is awarding $500 towards

airfare back to Canada!

You can show your national pride by getting a Canadian flag tattoo (removable, of course). Meet lots of Canadians and friends of Canada. Bring the kids, too!

Chor Leoni Men's Choir (pronounced 'kor lee-OH-nee', the name means "choir of lions") is recognized as Canada's finest male choir and one of the best in the world. Non Profit Status Update

The Bring-in-Canada day event helped kick off our initiative to establish CanDiego as a Non-Profit organization. Together we are all ensuring that "many hands make light work" and you'll see that we are expanding our capability to provide professional, cultural, and social events. We now have a Board assembled composed of the following volunteers:

The Bring in Canada Day Celebration will be held at Prego Ristorante in Mission Valley on Saturday June 30, 2007 starting at 5:30 PM. Guitarist Chris Montgomery was classically trained at the Universities of Western Ontario and Toronto. He has performed at the DuMaurier Jazz Festival and the world famous Festival International de Jazz de Montreal. He is also a composer, arranger and producer. Chris spend many years working in marketing for BMG before venturing into the new world of digital music where was involved in the development of MP3.com. Chris has performed with Joe Pass, Phil Nimmons, Oscar Peterson, Rob McConnell and the Boss Brass, Sammy Nestico, Bob Magnusson, Bill Tole and Wayne Bergeron.

Trumpeter Jens Lindemann is hailed as one of the most celebrated soloists in his instrument's history. Jens has played in every major concert venue in the world; from the Philharmonics of New York, Los Angeles, London, Manchester, Munich, Hamburg, Lucerne and Berlin to Tokyo's Suntory Hall and even the Great Wall of China. For many years, Jens was the lead trumpet player for the world-famous Canadian Brass and has won major awards ranging from Grammy and Juno nominations to an honorary doctorate.

Jens was classically trained at the renowned Julliard School in New York and has recorded for BMG, EMI, CBC and the BBC. Jens is internationally endorsed by the Yamaha Corporation and teaches at UCLA in Los Angeles

CANADA DAY Happy Hour - Saturday July 1st, 2006

Our inaugural event will be held in San Diego at Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant. San Diego-based alumni from all the major universities in Canada are being invited and so are other local Canadians and Friends-of-Canadians. Staff from the Canadian Consulate in San Diego will also attend. There are over 350 confirmed attendees! All in all, this event is slated to be a great start to our CanDiego community.
